When Poul Henningsen designed the PH Artichoke lamp for a restaurant in Copenhagen in 1958, he hardly thought that his work would reach iconic status within a few years. Yet it happened, and PH Artichoke is now one of the most outstanding pieces in design history, available in many sizes, colours, and variations. One of the latest versions of the model is the PH Artichoke Black, in which the 6-6 metal sheets strung on 12 strands that make up the luminaire are made of matte black steel sheets. Sophisticated, sleek and yet striking and distinctive: PH Artichoke worthily inherits the most beautiful characteristics of the original model (otherwise made with copper plates).
